Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 26, 2026
This policy explains what data is and is not processed when you use FileConverters (fileconverters.ai), and which third-party services may be involved. FileConverters is designed to minimize data collection: the tools themselves run entirely in your browser, and the files you work with are never uploaded.
1. Your files are processed locally and never uploaded
Images you select or drop onto FileConverters tools are read, converted, and verified by JavaScript running on your own device. They are not transmitted to FileConverters' servers — the site is static and has no file-upload endpoint. In ad-free builds, the site's Content-Security-Policy limits network connections to this site's own origin. Converted files and generated PDFs exist only in your browser's memory until you save them; closing the tab discards them. FileConverters' conversion code does not transmit filenames, image bytes, or image metadata. Analytics events, where enabled (see section 4), must not include filenames, file contents, or conversion results.
2. Technical hosting and delivery data
FileConverters is delivered through Vercel's managed hosting and content-delivery infrastructure. Like virtually all web hosting, serving pages involves processing technical request data such as your IP address, browser user-agent, and requested URLs. Those details may appear in short-lived infrastructure logs used for security, abuse prevention, and operations. This processing concerns page requests only, never your files, which are not transmitted. See theVercel privacy policy for provider details.
3. Cookies and consent
The FileConverters site itself does not set cookies for the tools to work, and no advertising or analytics cookies are set unless and until those services are enabled and, where required, you have made an applicable consent choice. If advertising or analytics are activated in your region, a Google-certified consent-management platform will govern applicable choices and provide a way to revisit them.
4. Analytics data
FileConverters does not currently load an analytics service. It may later use a service such as Google Analytics 4 or Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate usage — for example, which tools are visited and whether errors occur. Where analytics are active, they are limited to coarse interaction events (such as "a conversion completed" or "a verification error was shown") and never include your files, their names, their contents, or their metadata. Analytics identifiers and cookies, where used, are subject to the consent choices described in section 3.
5. Advertising data
FileConverters may display advertising provided by Google AdSense to fund free tools. When ads are active, Google's third-party code runs in the page and Google and its partners may process technical data (such as IP address and page context) and, depending on your consent choices, may use cookies or similar technologies to select and measure ads. FileConverters does not pass selected files, filenames, converted pixels, or output details to ad code, and ad units are not connected to converter state. As with any third-party page script, users who require complete technical isolation from advertising code should use an ad blocker; the converters remain functional when ads are blocked. Where consent rules apply, Google's certified CMP governs the available ad-serving choices. For details, seeGoogle's advertising policies andGoogle's privacy policy. Ad blockers do not affect the functioning of FileConverters tools. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time inGoogle My Ad Center, and opt out across many other vendors at Your Online Choices (Europe) orYourAdChoices (US). Opting out makes advertising non-personalized; it does not remove advertising.
6. Third-party services
Depending on configuration, the following categories of third parties may be involved:
- Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
- Google AdSense — advertising (only when enabled).
- Analytics provider — aggregate usage measurement (only when enabled).
- Consent-management platform — records consent choices (only when advertising/analytics requiring consent are enabled).
FileConverters does not sell personal information and does not operate accounts, profiles, or user databases.
7. Data retention
FileConverters itself retains no user files and no conversion data — there is nothing to retain, because your files never reach our servers. Technical logs held by the hosting provider, and any analytics or advertising data held by the providers above, are retained according to those providers' published retention policies. Consent choices are stored in your browser and/or by the consent-management platform for the period required to honor them.
8. Your rights and contact
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because FileConverters holds no user-entered data or files, most such requests will concern the third-party services listed above; we will point you to the correct controller and assist where we can. To exercise rights or ask questions about this policy, use the details on thecontact page.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated as services are enabled or changed — for example, when advertising, analytics, or consent management goes live. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
