Terms of Use

Last updated: July 25, 2026

These terms govern your use of the FileConverters website at fileconverters.ai ("the site"). By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, do not use the site.

1. General-purpose tools, provided as-is

FileConverters provides free, general-purpose utilities that convert, compress, resize, and assemble image files locally in your browser. Outputs are provided for general use. The site does not provide professional advice of any kind, and no professional relationship is created by your use of the site. You remain responsible for the files you process, for holding the necessary rights to them, and for verifying that converted output meets your requirements before relying on it.

2. No guarantee of suitability

We work to keep the tools accurate — conversion logic is tested and documented (see the methodology page) and outputs are verified by re-decoding — but the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Conversion behavior depends in part on your browser's own image codecs. Lossy conversions permanently alter image data, and metadata (including EXIF) is removed by re-encoding: keep your original files. You are responsible for independently verifying any output before relying on it for a consequential purpose.

3. Your responsibilities

You agree to use the site lawfully and not to:

  • Interfere with or disrupt the site, its hosting, or its security;
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content by automated means in a manner that burdens the service;
  • Process files you do not have the right to use, or use the tools to infringe another's intellectual-property or privacy rights;
  • Use the site to develop or distribute malware or to conduct fraudulent activity.

4. Your files remain yours

Files you process with the tools are handled entirely within your browser and are never received, stored, or claimed by the site operator. You retain all rights you hold in your files and in the converted outputs. Nothing in these terms grants the site operator any license to your content — the architecture makes such a license meaningless, since your content never reaches us.

5. Intellectual property

The site's own content — including text, explanations, worked examples, design, and code — is owned by the site operator and protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may use the tools and quote brief excerpts with attribution; you may not republish substantial portions of the site or its content as your own.

6. Third-party services and advertising

The site may display third-party advertising (such as Google AdSense) and may link to third-party sites. Those services and sites are governed by their own terms and policies; FileConverters is not responsible for their content or practices. The presence of an advertisement is not an endorsement.

7. Availability and modification

We may add, change, suspend, or remove tools or content at any time, and may modify these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or business, arising from or related to your use of the site or reliance on any output it produces — including loss or corruption of files processed with the tools. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the site operator's principal place of business, and disputes are subject to the courts competent for that place, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country or state of residence provides otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited by agreement.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms can be raised through the contact page.
